Greetings all, I'm hoping that someone can help me out in getting a Quantum 2 cabinet from an area "40 minutes south of Cheyenne, Wyoming in the northern part of CO" to anywhere in Washington state, though preferably in the Central part or Seattle.
There were few right-channel Q2s made, so far as I can tell and this is my chance to finally mirror-image my beloved pair. So, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Of course, I have some equipment I can trade for the help, nothing fancy though.
The cabinet:

Bear in mind that the cabinet is approximately 120-130 lbs and 4'x1.5'x1' (HxWxD).
Thanks,
- JP

Until I read the thread that started this I was going to say ask John, but that appears to be where this speaker is originating from.

Yeah, it's John's cab. I don't know how likely it is to find someone heading this way from Colorado, but I'm constantly surprised by this forum, so I'm hopeful.
Just something about me and big speakers, I suppose, but I do love them.

I'm just refreshing my request for transport. Since Thanksgiving is coming up soon, does anyone's travel plans offer up the chance of helping out?
Thanks,

Well, Thanksgiving is within a week. Is there anybody at all who'll be passing through Northern Colorado to anywhere in or near the PNW (where I can either pick up or arrange alternate transportation the last bit) who can help move a single Quantum 2 enclosure similar to the attached picture?
Pretty please?

I'd help you, but I don't even think you can get THERE from Tennessee...-Sandy G.

Thanks for the offer Sandy, but I do believe I'll have to decline. Sure, sometimes the only way to go forwards is to go backwards, but Tennessee is a bit too much so. :thmbsp:
With this cabinet, not only would be electrical refurb of my Quantum 2s be complete, but I'd have a mirror-imaged pair. Something very uncommon and that would allow me to hear them as they were originally intended. Sadly, experience has taught me that just as soon as I'd find transportation, something will happen to block success. :sigh:

If John can get it to me I am pretty sure I can get it safely packed and sent out to you.

Chari,
If somebody can get it to me here in Boise, I'm sure I can get it to you sooner(or later). If I don't make it on the 10th of December for the get together, I could probably make it up that way early next year.

B-S,
Charivari mentioned you might have a Sony headshell you aren't using. If true, could you PM me? Thanks!

Oh? What do you have in mind? That air freight service that goes airport to airport? If so, that works for me, possibly, as SeaTac International is only about 3 - 3.5 hours away.

Now you're talking. Only problem is nobody wants to go to Idaho, so there's noone to help move it up that way. :D Seriously, I do appreciate it.

No problemo. Keep me as a possible backup, even if you have to Greyhound it to me.

I will. Problem is the cabinet is too large for most shipment means. Greyhound has a weight limit of 100 lbs same for others.

Just refreshing my request in time for the Christmas season. Anyone willing to help get these to the PNW? Seattle? Portland? Toise, er, Boise?
Thanks,

JP, I am pretty sure I can get it safely to you. I am thinking well packed in a wardrobe box and strapped to a palet with tie downs. If you dont mind a drive to the airport and around $100 worth of shipping it can happen with forward air. Just may take another month or so.

Well, there's Yakima, Spokane, and SeaTac, so I've a few airport options within easy driving distance (30, 200, and 150 miles respectively). It works for me if you don't mind undertaking all that effort on my part. Would you take some gear in trade for your labor, pallet, and wardrobe box?
As to waiting a month, heck, I've been trying to find transportation for nearly 3 months, so I don't mind the wait at all.
Thank you much.

Tannoy baby :D No really I am in need of next to nothing, I know the "need" and how happy it makes you when it gets to you and if I can pass that feeling on it is job done.

Tannoy baby :D
How 'bout some Tannoy cabinets? I'm ending up with a spare pair of Berkeley cabinets tonight from some strange turn of events.
Needless to say, you've made me very happy at the prospects of finally converting my pair into a mirror-imaged set. It should do wonders for imaging with these speakers in my smallish room over what I have now.
Thank you very much.

I just wanted to say, AK Pony Express works!
I picked up this cabinet from the sort of local Forward Air office this weekend and already have it singing with the drivers from one of my cabinets.
Many thanks to jguzman21 and Brainsmasher.
