Swap Meet at the Fest.

Howdy everyone!

One more slice of the multi-faceted Fest is the return of the Swap Meet! Fun for buyers and sellers alike.

Grumpy has clued me in to the details - unusual become I'm often clueless :confused: . They are:

The tables will be in rooms alongside the Fest itself! This is great imo 'cause we swapsters will not have to worry about our stuff sitting unattended downstairs, and is "where the people are".

It makes things more convenient for us buyers, too (like many AKers' I am both). No waiting impatiently, chomping at the bit to find that one thing, be it a unit, part, lp, etc - just walk out of your favorite listening room and into the Swap zone.

Tables are available for a donation of $25.00 each. Contact Grumpy for reservations and payment.

These tables are a GREAT way to move your spares and extras, gotten from buying WAY too much. It is a disease with no cure.

There's a few reasons why we can't sell out of our rooms. We want to be fair to the vendors, who pay a great deal for their rooms, and we're trying to keep it a Festival with a swap meet, vs just a huge swap meet.

So pick up a table! We'll make room for your speakers, sure. Right now we are hoping for about 12 tables, so will our stuff-crazy members please step up (isn't that all of us??) - clear out your unused stuff, make a couple bucks, and help someone find what they're looking for!

Well, I've already offered my mule (van) and set-up services as a volunteer at the event - seriously hoping to demo some replinthed Lencos and possibly a Rek-O-Kut (not selling). Never having attended before, would I be looking for a table or a room? I'm leaning toward the table because it sounds like it would be in the midst of the "action" while a room seems like it might become an abondoned thread. And how do we pay?

While I have stuff I'd *PROBABLY* be willing to call 'spare' none of it is very portable.

No problem on the late word. Time changes all the best of plans. A new 14-plex theatre install in Grand Blanc, MI. may well eat into my freedom. It's got to be open by May 5. Now, I'm just hoping I can squeeze some time to attend the Fest.

Hope I can too. Yes, to the sound. Each projection station gets three systems: 5-channel Dolby A - analog (digital failsafe/older films) and two, 6-channel digital systems, DTS & Dolby SRD.

I keep bumping into stuff around here that I'm considering bringing and would like to give folks a heads up so they can bring the BIGGEST vehicle they have.

Don't want anyone going home w/o because they brought the Yugo?

Also, would a wants thread be good for the attendees? You know, the out of towners listing what they've been looking for? It sure be nice to hook as many folks up with as much stuff as we can.
