Wine!
Nova Scotia' Annapolis Valley (North Mountain) is one of just a handful of select grape growing areas in Canada. The other three areas are Ontario's Niagara Region, Ontario's Point Pele and British Columbia's Okanagan Valley.
Here at Ashburne Farms in North Berwick I spent a beautiful sunny afternoon working on the vineyards and, as luck would have it, I just happened to have my Canon Digital Rebel XT with me. :thmbsp:
Enjoy. Use this link > here (http://www.clarkeworks.com/clarkeworks_ak1.html)

PS: Dang s**t. Now the stupid server says that the size limit of a JPG is 196Kb - what's up with that? Use the link above, thanks.

Love the salmon, I just wish someone in Nova Scotia would discover salt and put it on the lox!

All I know about PEI is that it produces even better potatoes than Maine...and before my wife introduced me to them, I thought Maine Potatoes were the best to be had!
Long live Tom Hortons, and come here to Brooklyn, my wife misses you!

Thanks everyone for the nice response. I'm looking forward to getting a macro-focusing lens for this camera.
There is certainly a lot of photographic material here in the Maritimes - one just has to be in the right place at the right time.

Paul, those look great. That first pic indeed reminds me of the Niagara Region where all the vineyards, wineries, and peach orchards were, at the foot of the Escarpment. I used to live 15 minutes from them, and miss them terribly. The aroma was terrific. Thank you for the pix.

I know what you mean, Tom, as I lived for 35 years in and about the Escarpment region (Oakville) and I was always fascinated by those long (some, really long!) rows of grape vines.
In a few days I will get my first crack at harvesting grapes! I'm hoping to help my friends at Ashburne Farms in some manner that will also let me carry my camera with me. Fingers crossed! This past weekend I helped install the Waliers in the vineyards - it's an electronic noise-maker (value: about $7,000) that is used to scare off the birds and some four-footed theives! We had to string about 1 Km of wire through the hills connecting up the 5 sets of speakers.
