cool, so how did they do the finish on that strat? its like a really heavy red stain thats almost, but not quite opaque

Probably triple layered. Start with a sexy transluscent red, hand rubbed.
Bring in a darker stain, perhaps a shade of black and finish with the sweet coat of clear laquer. Wala! One magnificent finish! Nice!!!!!!!........ :thmbsp:
