I bought my first vintage Sansui on a whim this evening. It is an AU-8500 in pretty good shape. I have not been able to find very much about it so I was hoping you guys might be able to enlighten me a bit about this unit.

Thanks,

Jeff

Welcome to the forum VPIVinylspinner,

That model is quite nice..... A mate of mine had one many years ago.
This site has some good pics and info (but not in english)
http://www11.plala.or.jp/se_ke5583/SANSUI/amp/au-8500.html

Hope you enjoy the sound of it....... they are built like tanks.

One on Ebay that Just finished went for $113.50 Item number: 5812919671
So they can be had a reasonable price... :thmbsp:

I am in the process of replacing alot of my modern equipment with a vintage setup. I currently use Triangle Antal 202 speakers which to me sound best with tubes; however, my Rogue Audio tube amp is always broken so am slowly building a new (vintage) system and might eventually get different speakers. Most of my my current system is pictured below and consists of:

VPI Scoutmaster Turntable w/ Dynavector 20xH cartridge, Acoustech PH1-Premium Preamp and VPI SDS speed controller

Teac X-7R Reel-to-Reel

Tascam 122 Mark 1 Cassette

Pioneer TX-7500 Tuner

Yamaha TX-930 Tuner

Hafler DH-200 Amp

Rogue Audio Magnum 88 Amp

Van Alstine modded Dynaco Pat-5 Preamp
