Hi,

I got a CT-606 in mint condition for 7$CA... I tried to look on the internet for that model... It seems to be a Europeen one, what would be the equivalent for the USA/CA model? All the belts are fine, seems to be a good machine!

Thanks,

Eric Lahaie

Resurrecting a very old thread here. I've got a CT-606, which seems to be the same as a CF-F6262 except it has black meters and a metal case. I bought it to match my TX-606 tuner, and now am looking for a matching amp (SA-706 or SA-606). They should look nice all together, with the silver faces and black meters.

At $7 you got a decent find - well done. Today my local Goodwill had a Pioneer CT-F4242 but wanted an outrageous $20.99 for it, even though the wood case was chipped. I noted that even my usual audio-gear competitors locally weren't touching it! The fascia was in unmarked condition, but the heads and roller needed a very good clean and almost certainly a service/belts. Not worth the effort for that model at that buying price. I get disappointed every time I DON'T score a nice piece of vintage audio for under $10, so today was a bad day for all my driving! :(

I've taken a second look at my CT-606, and while it seems to generally be part of the Pioneer CT-Fx2x2 line, it doesn't match any specific models. It has the backward-L shaped input jacks and open door button on the left like the CT-F4242, but has the output level knob and auto-detection of chrome tapes like the CT-F6262. The Dolby NR LED above the tape counter next to the tape type LEDs looks to be unique.

Sorry for the poor quality picture; my camera is very cheap. I corrected the colour and brightness with software, but a I can't make up for the lack of detail.

Hi,
I sold the unit but I got it back last week! The person got a CT-F1000 and he didn't want this one...

It's in amazing condition, no scratches anywhere, In fact I do have a CT-F900 right now and I think I prefer the look of the CT-606 (OK it's not 3 heads) but the tape cover look better in my opinion... (I guess if you break that part, it's not easy to have another one!! ;-)

I tried to have some information from the net but I got nothing...

Thanks,
Eric
