We are aware of it. Unfortunately you SOB's are working the server harder then a addict on speed.

Yes boys an girls its that time of year when Audiokarma must once again upgrade its server.

This time Its gonna be a biggie ! Theres no where else for us to go except a Dual processor server big boy ( Read BIG BUCKS ! )

The upgrade will be coming as soon as we raise a few more dollars.

Unfortunately we must once again ask for donations so please give till it hurts. OK just do your best if possible. Thanks in advance for helping us keep the best darn site on the web around a little while longer.

OK. You got mine. How about a $5 admission fee? Like they say on NPR, less than 2 cents a day.

As soon as I can scrape up some dinero, this place will get some of it :) via snail mail. And as for noticing a slowdown on this site, there usually isn't one when I'm on (anywhere from 5 to 10am EST)... but today was the very first time! Evenings? Yes. But now? Shocking!

Perhaps it would help if Mods did a Spring Cleaning once in a while? Perhaps members who havent logged on in over a year could be deleted? Threads descibing now non-existent ePay links? Deleting the Off Topic Threads every 6 months?

Just a few ideas...but I'll still throw some money at the site!!

It's not storage space, it's bandwidth. When 200 plus people are clicking like crazy on everything is when it slows down......

OIC...would Leslie West occupy a lot of bandwidth? :)

Money is not in great supply at the moment, so here is my donation. I bought this Kenwood KR-5600 as a challenge, poor thing looked like it had been rode hard and put away wet. Well I recovered it with Black Ash vinyl, rewired the power transformer 'cause some idiot had cut the wires short rather than unsolder them. Located the problem, blown output transistor and its driver. Could not get the 2SB618 but subbed a 2SB966 (meant drilling and tapping the heat sink). Fired her up, heard the relay click, but no sound. Then I noticed the Adaptor in/out jacks, hooked in an interconnect and music! So I made a pair of copper jumpers. The donation? Grumpy you can sell it, auction it, or just plain give it away. It will be packed like the crown jewels (or family jewels) and shipped wherever you say.

Hi Grumpy: I have an American bank note in my wallet that my wife doesn't know about (Japanese wives in Japan manage the household economy by tradition). It ain't much, but I'll send it — but WHERE? I don't even know where to start to look or who the treasuerer is. BTW an M.O. here in Japan costs $10 in fees to buy it — plus exchange.

Thanks for all the effort!! I hope that your reward is all the best karma one can enjoy. Lorne

Lorne, if you click the 'Donate' button, upper right corner of the page, you will be taken to a page which has the address of AudioKarma's mailbox. If, for some reason, that isn't working, here it is:

AudioKarma
3766 West 12 Mile Road PMB #159
Berkley, MI 48072-1112

I believe Grumpy handles the financials for the site.

Hope this helps.

I get the "server is too busy" message infrequently.

Here is an update on the server status and funds drive.

We are still way short on cash but we want to thank each and every one of you who donated so far!

So this is what we have done so far. For now we have purchased a new server. We had just enough to do the change over and setup fee's. However we are in desperate need of more donations.

We hope to be on the new server withing a couple of weeks at most and will update everyone as more info becomes available.

Thanks again !
Grumpy
