Hi all, posted this in the Wanted section a couple of weeks ago and didn't get any responses, so I thought I would make a little more noise about it.

Just won an auction for an RT-707 deck and discovered that the cast aluminum arm that the right-side pinch roller pivots on is broken, as in cracked into two pieces. The only thing holding it together is the thin metal plate on top of the arm that the spring attaches. As you can imagine, the deck doesn't want to work very well like this. :pity:

So, does anyone have a parts unit that they would be willing to sell this part from? As far as I can tell, this is the only problem with the deck and I'd sure like to hear her.

Hi Charlie,
I'll try my parts source and see what they can come up with. Will be a few days.

Hi Charlie,
No luck with that part. It's NLA from Pioneer. My contact didn't have one in stock. Perhaps you can find a welder to weld the parts together? That may work.
Good luck.

Thanks for looking for me Ron, I appreciate the try.

Madpioneer, thanks for the contact - I'll email your guru and see what's up. I've thought about trying to epoxy the arm back together but figured it probably wouldn't hold up. Hadn't thought about welding it, definitely a possibility to keep in mind. BTW, I see you're in TX, whereabouts? I'm originally from Waco, grew up in Tyler, then went to and graduated from A&M. Kind of miss the place, but I love L.A. and So Cal!

Did you locate a replacement part or were you able to repair the arm?

Heh, I can't believe you guys dug up this old post! Yes, I found someone on that auction site that was parting a unit out, and bought a replacement for the pinch roller assembly arm I needed for my RT-707. Thanks for asking, guys!
