... just a random photo (with the old, kind of blurry camera, which was handy) of the LR system. Listening to some 'OO on the Cornwalls when the shot was taken... lucky there wasn't flame shooting out of the HF-81 :-)

Nice Setup!
How would you rate that sherwood tuner? There's one on CL near me completely rstored for 125. Beautiful piece, I'm just wondering if its worth picking up for that price. I've necer really heard any sherwood tube gear and I'm kind of curious :scratch2:

I love it. I use it without a MPX adapter due to my deep suburb location. It's the best sounding tuner in the house (and, no, I don't know how many tuners there ARE in the house).

Sweet set up...
Could you list the pieces...

uhh, let me think :-)
Sherwood S-3000 tuner
EICO HF-81 integrated amp
Bottlehead Seduction phono preamp
Marantz something-or-other CDP
b&o TX-2 tt with MMC-4 cartridge
Tascam 22-4 4-track R2R
Pioneer RT-909 stereo R2R
The little R/S switchbox handles all the inputs to the EICO (for no particular reason)
Now you know why I was looking for one of those tape dubbing switches, Brent!

Okay...
Did you buy that Bottlehead preamp as a kit... I've never thought about this, not that I had a reason too, but how are the Bottlehead phono preamps hooked into a system..
I couldn't really tell what the Tascam was before.. It sticks right out now...
So, what do ya think about the little switch box.. Has it had a good work out yet..

yup, built the Seduction right after it came out (Christmas present from my wife, who is delightfully tolerant of my obsessions). It's just fed to a line-level (AUX) input on the EICO. The EICO's phono section is unrestored, and the 12AX7's that are in it are unremarkable ones, so the Seduction sounds quite a bit better.
Unfortunaterly, not much chance to tape lately... I don't even listen to the R2R's much -- 'cause the cats have been known to POUNCE the spinning reels :-( I am negotiating to get a nice rack for 'em ... stay tuned...
I am hoping to tackle that Panasonic cassette again this weekend -- I'll PM ye with an update.

mrh, Ive heard that the Eico HF 81 is a very tiresome tube integrated to listen to for any period of time. Why dont you let me take that off your hands to save you the humiliation of having to show it in future pic's. :D

Very nice setup indeed...one you should be proud of!
I'm curious about the Seduction; why the aluminum tube shields? What would happen if they were removed?

Sounds the same to me avec or sans the shields :-) Now, my Seduction does still have the original power transformer, which induces some hum into one channel. I have the current (shielded) PT in the basement, but havent' mustered enough gumption to swap it in.
The Paramours have been on hiatus since I re-capped the HF-81 last winter. I like the Paramours a lot, but having that bit of extra power (and probably better LF control too) is hard to give up.
