A Yamaha TC800GL cassette deck!! :banana:

Wanted one of these for years but never seen one for less than about £95, so to find one at my local dump at the weekend for £3 was very nice!! :huge:

Have cleaned it up since the photos and it's in very nice condition but not plugged it in yet, so fingers crossed!

One thing I must ask, you paid 3 quid for it at the dump? Pay money to take away from the dump? :screwy:
That doesn't happen in this country, once you drop something at the tip, the operator are very keen to get you out of there without further action. There are signs EVERYWHERE saying "No Scanenging -Penalty $$$$$"

Yes - over here in the UK the recycling companies who run the dumps (or "household waste recycling centres"!!) put stuff like electricals aside in a special area and sell them. I know it seems a bit of a funny idea, but this is how it's done and apparently if they catch you taking stuff they can ban you from the site!

It also means you can speak nicely to the bloke in charge and get them to put stuff aside for you! :thmbsp:

Mind you, i'm not saying that i haven't "palmed" the odd stylus/headhell/valve etc. in the past!! :D

Oh and update - one good clean and a new belt later and the Yamaha works perfectly!! :banana:
