I saw that too. That is one beautiful cabinet. If it contained a 21" round tube it would be a lusted after item for my collection, but as you say, prohibitively located for most of us. :(

Darn it, Rob, I know. It's very tempting. I have a NOS (new old stock) '64 Packard Bell color Roundie. This could be its younger adopted brother.

I would love to have that ebay set just for the cabinet. I have a Heathkit GR-53A (world's first color TV offered as a kit) with a 21" round tube and it was offered from Heath without cabinet which was an option. Mine has no cabinet.

I'll try to post a shot of my 1964 Packard Bell color TV. It's surplus from an old Appliance store in Detroit, and has never even been turned on. In fact it still has the four banners attached to the front of the screen: INSTANT COLOR PURITY, etc.

The silly thing is, it's impossible to watch the set through the plastic banners, but it's so neat that they are still intact after almost 40 years that I don't want to remove them. The instruction manual and little UHF antenna are still neatly stapled to the back of the set in the little plastic bag.

This thing is NEW.

It's also silly for me to have a set I can't even watch, but I couldn't resist it.

That's very cool having such a new vintage set. I'm with you in that I wouldn't remove those screen decals. I'm sure I'd have plastic wrap around the set too just to keep dust out and it looking as new as time will allow. Hope to see your pictures.
