Here's the mid 70's Chromacolor II That I had mentioned earlier, It was brought in to my recycling center, Nothing wrong with it! The original crt too, I always liked the picture quality on these sets.

Here's a neat system three with zoom, Remember that? These sets have a real 70's "star wars" style. Fits nicely into any corner of the room, But not too nicely in my basement! As you can see by the pic I still don't have enough room! I have another Identical model, Works good but missing the control door, Free to anyone interested.

Here's another pic, It is Motorola's last model they made before panasonic took over. Works in a drawer and pushbutton UHF.

Here's the Motorola TS-915 Chassis, A '68 model The set is so huge and immovable, I could only get a pic of the back for now. It has the Drexel cabinet with doors in front, AM-FM and Phono.

Here's my 1980 Gold Star, with the original huge remote. Found out that Gold Star pioneered color TV in Korea, coming out with Korea's first color TV in 1976. So, in effect, this is Korea's CTC-7! :p:
Set is in near mint shape, the discoloration around channel 7 in the pic is photo flash or something

This set is really neat. It's a 1976 Hitachi color portable, and can operate on AC and 12V! This set has an incredible color picture! Found it in the trash about 4 years ago.

Here's a 1968 TS-915 That I just got from drh4683, It has cleaned up pretty nicely so far.
It was large trash collection week in my area this week. I didn't find any really old TVs this time, but I did pick up this nice early 70's Panasonic 'pana-color' portable color set. It's from about 1972 and has a 9" screen. It uses the smalled delta gun CRT I've seen. It worked fine as I found it and has a good picture. I almost drove past it because it was sitting face down in a cardboard box and looked like a cheap B/W set.

Finally found a chromacolor II thats in excellent shape. Picked it up at the salvation army today. It worked perfect of course! The chroma II's seem to hold up very well. This is a chassis 17EC45. The tv was built sometime in 1973, but it is for the 74 model year according to CM-122. So this is a pretty early chroma II. Not sure if you can see this, but there are little holes in the dial panel that seem to line up with the tint and color control shafts. Anyone know what this is all about? Definitly factory, but not sure if I am missing something?
Those are to adjust the preset color and tint for when the chromatic is turned on. You need to use a long thin screwdriver; the shafts are hollow.

One of the guys at work picked this up for me when he was going home from work yesterday. Yes, typical zenith, they always work flawless when found even at the curb! I now have the complete 1973 line of chromacolor II's with the 17EC45 chassis. The one pictured above is the other one. This on is a 1973, delay line is dated april 14, 1973. Perhaps I was reading the one above wrong. I had to use a mirror to see the reflection of the date stamp from inside the tv. I must have read it wrong unless zenith used this chassis for multiple years? The one above has click stop UHF which I beleive went into effect in 1975. This one has individual spot light UHF tuning for each channel. I live in chicago and I was receiving stations over 100 miles away on UHF in near perfect clarity with my big 18' outdoor yagi antenna with the rotor!! I was watching stations I never picked up before while "dxing". Nice sensitive RF on these.

That is a nice find, Looks like it was taken good care of, Or used very little.
Those chromacolor II sets just seem to keep going for years, Zenith really had a good thing going there...
