I had an ebay seller ship a Carver pm series amp to the hotel I was doing an event at. The amp was wrapped in plastic wrap-NOT bubble wrap and the box had a few peanuts in it and black duct tape around it. The worst damage was bent rack ears. The seller said he thought it was packed "really well and was worried about damage". I'm lucky it was only shipped a couple of hundred miles!!

I'm beginning to think that the packing peanuts should be thrown away in most cases. They just don't give the amount of protection that solid foam does. :no:
