Don't know. Maybe just the Leslie as I haven't heard this.

Weren't Andy Summer (Police) and Robert Wyatt in SM?

I photographed Robert Wyatt in '91 - went to his home north of London and it is one of the best souvenirs of my "people" photography. Still have the postacard him and his wife sent for X-Mas :)
You can see that image here: http://www.axeldahl.com/pages/people.html
I also did the guitarist of Soft Machine but not Ratledge - would''ve been nice to have all three!

Apart from that, the day I doscovered the 1st Soft Machine album I still remember and always will - talk about "power trio"!
SM #1 is one of my fav' albums and luckily my Big Beat LP reissue still is mint.

Three is my favorite. i've had my copy since 1971. i also have a copy of Fourth, have never heard One or Two. i'd like to, though. in 1971, 'round these here parts, the Softs were regarded as the deepest, heaviest, weirdest, most avant, too cool for you, no one could possibly 'get it' band around. the one you pulled out on the 2nd joint, said 'check this out, man!', laid it on the TT, dimmed the lights and waited for your friend to say, 'wow! holy shit, whass this?'

soft machine, man.

and they still have that effect on the innocent

..and you will still "get it".I haven't used street pharmaceuticals in decades, and the Softs' sound still blows me away. Now,their Seventh release, along with the Third,Fourth & Sixth are my faves.-Bob
