Thanks for the link! Jameshenry 11-23-2005, 02:34 PM Now this is most certainly a drag! Man, what this guy did for music. He'll be missed sorely. bordeno 11-23-2005, 02:54 PM A decade later punk fans embraced Wray when he teamed up with Washington's Robert Gordon for several neo-rockabilly albums; Bruce Springsteen gave "Fire" to Wray and Gordon after the death of Elvis Presley, for whom he had originally written the song. I still have "Fresh Fish Special," Robert Gordon with Link Wray. It is a fine record. clint e. 11-23-2005, 04:10 PM http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=52630 clint. CarlV 11-23-2005, 06:37 PM I read about it a couple weeks ago. :sigh: He just played here a couple months ago and I didn't go, too many shows to see at the moment. I did get to see him about 30 years ago at one of the mid week Winterland shows, he really was amazing, really got into the tones and distortion. :) His wife sat in a chair on the side of the stage, very pretty and dressed 50's style. Guess you had to be there. Thanks Link! Carl |
