Okay, so first, I have to thank a secret someone who sent me this, you know who you are. A remastered version of the masterpiece plus a concert dvd from 11/75 in England, and another DVD with a documentary.

I just finished watching the concert dvd- well over 2 hours and just farking amazing. I am totally exhausted. I saw Bruce a few months after this show and it brings back all the energy of a supremely confident and supremely talented band doing what they do best- blasting away any preconceptions about rock n' roll music. JUst incredible.

With the swagger of Presley, the poetry of Dylan and the sound of Spector - Born To Run - the Masterpiece that saved Springsteen and made him an icon of the American culture and the biggest star of his generation.
A must. :thmbsp:

Hey 10toze, how about posting a review of this in the review section? I would be interesting to hear your review in detail. How was the 5.1 sound?

I may do that, but it will mean another viewing in order to take detailed notes, and I ain't sure me old heart can take it for a few days. And, I can't speak to the 5.1 sound- I'm strictly 2 channel, which, other than tape hiss in the (admittedly few) quiet spots, was very, very good, coming from a 24 track master.

I see you got it eh? Well I'm glad you liked it. Always good to see someone really appreciate something. But at your age and mentioning of your old heart, perhaps it would be safest if you sent it back to me. I'd feel guilty if something happened to you because of it. :D

Toze:

That concert DVD is no surprise to me. I saw the infamous Milwaukee bomb scare show and it was one of the best shows I've EVER seen. Scruffy beard, black leather jacket and white T-shirt, flying off the piano with his guitar; it was a damn good rock n' roll show. Lasted until after 2AM. I even got to see Bruce leave (he looked exhausted) as I parked my motorcycle in the alley right by the stage door.

Here's some copy hijacked online.

October 2, 1975
Uptown Theatre, Milwaukee, WI

Set List: Pre-Bomb Scare: Meeting Across The River / 10th Avenue Freeze Out / Spirit In The Night / Pretty Flamingo / She's The One / Born To Run / Thunder Road

Post-Bomb Scare: Little Queenie / The E Street Shuffle / It's Hard To Be A Saint In The City / Sha La La / Kitty's Back / Jungleland / Rosalita / Detroit Medley / 4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) / Quarter To Three

Notes: Pre-scare: audience source. Post-scare: soundboard source. The (in)famous "Bomb Scare Show." Forty-five minutes into the concert, the building had to be cleared due to a bomb-scare. Bruce and the band evidently spent the time in the bar of the "Phhhhhhhhister" hotel continuing the "bomb" motif, if you know what I mean. Bruce came back to the stage feeling rather loose, and several times during "Little Queenie," he asked the audience, "Are ya loose?" starting a Bruce catch phrase that lasts to this day

Looks like I got something for my Xmas list
