View Full Version : Hello All
3-LockBox 12-01-2005, 01:27 AM Nice site. I visited here a while back and forgot my password, then lost my computer! I see some old buddies over here.
Anyway, a little about myself...
My musical tastes go all over the place, but for the past couple of years I've really plunged into progressive rock. But variety is the spice of life and I've been looking for an open minded website where people discuss music of all types, without being flamed. Some websites present somewhat of a 'rocky road' when it comes to civility.
So once again,
Howdy

VinylHanger 12-01-2005, 02:00 AM Welcome to the Music forum. We all love music, and it really doesn't matter what kind. We all have pretty eclectic tastes. Except for a certain someone who is all twang all the time. So post away and enjoy.
Negotiableterms 12-01-2005, 02:09 AM I happen to like a bit of twang, myself. Welcome aboard 3-lockbox!

mhardy6647 12-01-2005, 08:16 AM I am tempted to post something 'unknown' and unintelligible about Washington DC FM stations :-) but instead I'll just say "thanks for dropping by!"
Howdy Todd,
Nice to see you here.

JDaniel 12-01-2005, 09:21 PM Hey Todd - welcome back. Hang out here and post. Note we have a special section for music reviews, which you are very good at. Post some there too.
BTW, I sent you the Christmas tunes you requested, and the Sigur Ros I promised you.
Jeff

i'll do it for you....All DC Area stations SUCK!
mhardy6647 12-01-2005, 09:38 PM ahh, but that did NOT used to be the case. Remember WHFS, when they were in Bethesda?
PioneerHPMLuver 12-01-2005, 09:45 PM I Have probably 30-40 WHFS Bethesda Open Reel tapes of Damian, Weazel, David, Diane, Bob "Here" and others from the early 80's. I have the last 3 hours of WHFS 102.3 FM ON TAPE. The crew signing off. And watched the Signal Meter on my SX-980 fall to zero. It was gut wrenching to say the least. They did come back as 99.1 FM in Annapolis and were pretty good for the 1st few years.
Do You remember WGTB, GWU Radio in DC?
Jim
PioneerHPMLuver 12-01-2005, 10:04 PM Oh Sorry...Glad to meet you 3 lock box....
Any reference to an old Sammy Hagar album is good in my book!
clint e. 12-02-2005, 03:58 AM Bienvenido á AK Country.
clint.
mhardy6647 12-05-2005, 02:47 PM I do remember WGTB quite fondly...
Also (a LONG time ago), WBJC, in Balto., played excellent R&R on Sunday afternoons.
... and also WAYE (AM) in Balto. A "peanut whistle" station that had to sign off at dusk to make way for a clear channel station from Canada.
3-LockBox 12-06-2005, 01:26 AM your signtature looks familiar

I have about 7 hours of WGTB on open reel transferred to CD. Shows like the "Hard Implosion"...an all night rock n roll marathon. I recorded callers calling in to comment on the Ted Nugent concert at the Cap Centre with Van Halen backing up. Very interesting. Most thoght Van Halen blew Ted away...(Big Surprise...) 1978....
