Fellas, I received a tracking # from a fellow who sent a package to me from Chicago Illinois via DHL shipping today but when I punch it into the system I get a message indicating that there is no such number. Does it take a day for the tracking numbers to enter the system?

The number he gave me is 10 numbers long. Should there be a letter prefix on this tracking #?

It usually takes until after they close or till when they open the next day to upload the tracking numbers into the database.

I would wait until tomorow morning around 8am. If still nothing, contact the seller, he may have given you an incorrect number somewhere.

I've received only 1 package via DHL over a year ago so I can't remember if it's numerical or alphanumeric.
Most carriers require a day to post current info.

They have nice yellow trucks. I was impressed.

Good luck with that. Last time someone shipped me a package via DHL (really Airborne), it took 27 days to get here. It came from LA, which is a six-hour drive. Oh, and I had to pick it up at their sorting station. Oh, yeah, I also had to make about two dozen phone calls before they could even tell me where it was.
