View Full Version : AudioKarma Member of the Year 2005
Kamakiri
12-28-2005, 05:47 AM
As the year 2005 comes to a close, we'd like to do a little something special for a specially selected member of our forum, in the form of our annual AudioKarma Member of the Year award.
This member should represent the very best of what AK has grown to become.....it could be a good friend, someone who has helped the membership to a great degree, someone who made you laugh, or just someone who you really feel is an unsung hero.
Rather than accepting nominations of who best fits this bill, we're going to leave it to an open voting of the membership. If you'd like to cast your vote for the person who you feel best fits the title of AK Member of the Year, please email akmember2005@aol.com with your screen name, the name of the person that you are voting for, and if you wish, a few words as to why this person best deserves the award.
The award will consist of a custom professionally created plaque inscribed with the member's name, and the title of Member of the Year 2005, presented to the special person at the AK Fest in an awards ceremony. In the event that the person is not in attendance, a presentation will still be made in their honor, and the award sent to them via FedEx.
Please leave Admins out of the selection process (all others including moderators are eligible). We will tabulate the votes on Saturday January 14th, to give all members ample time to vote.

I don't know if I can decide on just one member to nominate, there's been quite a few memorable members this last year that have helped make AK such a great experience. Heck, I hang out here for the people.
Well, hopefully I'll narrow down to one nominee in the next ten days. I can say that this is a great idea to recognize those who've helped add to this internet community.

I don't normally link to the home page, so didn't see the call for votes! I wonder how many others are like me, and have bookmarked their favorite forum, instead. Is there a way for the Admins to post simulataneous messages to all forums at the same time? That would be a good way to handle something like this.

I agree completely! Afterall, what's so bad about a boobie? I don't care if it's only one or a pair, or even an entire gaggle, I think boobies are rather interesting and fun to watch...especially when wet and glistening in the sunlight (since boobies look their best IMO totally soaking wet)!

To bring this thread back on track from its enjoyable tangent, I finally managed a vote. It was certainly hard trying to choose between nearly half a dozen members that I felt were in strong contention for the title, imo. The final decision amounted to little more than a mental coin flip.
Word is there's hardly more than 100 votes in out of over 12000 members, so the rest of you, get to it.

Frankly, as a tie has occurred and apparently wasn't a lass minute fluke, then why not recognize both members? They've obviously had equal impact on the member base and it just wouldn't be fair to choose one over the other, or put it through another voting cycle. Just my $0.02, of course.
But ... if there can be only one, perhaps stage a small UFC bout at the AK Fest for entertainment purposes? :smoke:
