Got some home recordings laid down by an unknown tape deck (RtR). The alignment is out of synch with my TEAC's erase heads. Anybody using bulk erasers with model suggestions for ease of use or ones to avoid? Many thanks.

I've used a bunch over they years. They are pretty simple and I've never noticed much difference. Some cheaper ones had the handles fall off after a few decades of abuse, that that's about all.

The Radio Shack only can do one or two reels and then it times out. The "cool down" is 30-60 min.
I built my own using an old power transformer "E" laminations and making a coil to fill the space.

I have the Radio Shack for many years.....probably about 25 years.
Always works fine.
Does the job..

If you can find a working Realistic Cat.No 44-233A cheap, it's 1 min on and 30 min off. For 10-1/2 inch reels you need two times before totally erased from my experince. :)
Robins #99 was a stronger model that you put the reel on top and press the button, but not so common to find.

Well, I ended up with this Magneraser Jr. Hope it does the job.
