Greetings:
Where would be the quickest place to purchase a good cartridge mounting kit. I have Thorens TT's and I belive that they do not use the standard screws that are used on most TT's. I beleive I reaad @ one time or another that Thorens take a 2M screw and not a 2.5M screw. Plus I would like to get a good supply of spacers, washers and screws for future TT's I am destined to buy.
Thanks Guys!

I've been meaning to post something similar for a while...

Does anyone have a *common* source for cartridge mounting hardware? I don't mean "order over the internet at $5 per screw from 'The Turntable Boutique'" or something, I mean at common hardware pricing?

www.mcmaster.com must be the worlds biggest hardware store. They don't have everything but its darn close and anything you order usually arrives the next day while only charging standard UPS rates. You may have to buy 50 screws for that $5 though.

For the M2 type bolt for fitting cartridges on Thorens headshells you can get them from http://www.theanalogdept.com/index.html

I got some from the fella there and they were quire reasonably priced and of a good quality. Swift shipping too!

I've done a few transactions with these folks for screws etc:

I am always replacing my cartridge screws with socket head cap screws and have settled on this place for a supplier:

http://www.fastener-express.com/

Of course they have other hardware, and they seem to have the best selection and sell in small quantities.

McMaster-Carr has screw checkers on page 2069. I purchased an inch and metric version to check my current screws before ordering.

Thanks a bunch for the information guys. I beleive with what you have given me I can build my own kit. I have said it more than once, this is the place to come for audio questions, especially analog type.
