i don't know why any one would eat the organ reponsible for filtering the impurities in a body ? but that said i love mine with bacon and onions in a red wine sauce thick cut sauteed in butter :thmbsp:

OH, MAN, YEAH!!! I love the stuff, but nobody else in my family does. There's a place up the hwy in Killeen, little local chain, chicken and catfish and the BEST chicken livers I have ever eaten. I eat the stuff 'til I'm just sick. But the absolute best is deer liver. I'm no deer hunter (duck & dove, yes) but my deer hunting friends down here know to bring me liver. I cook it when the wife and kids are gone. Axis deer is sometimes hunted on game ranches (it's from Russia, I think) and it's liver is the pinacle of fine dining! Dine on, man!!!

Same here! Gimme a pile of gently broiled chicken livers on toast, or sautéed beef liver slices, with a side of mashed spuds and a veggie and I'm there! There are THREE diners that make this near me and no matter what else is on the menu, I always zoom in on those! I mean, face it. Liver's full o' Vitamin A. How can that be bad for ya?

My mother used to fry up calf's liver with onions in a cast iron skillet when I was a kid (she was the only one in the house who could stomach it) and in the process, stunk up the whole house!

I don't know about liver itself as I haven't tried it since I was a little kid, but I can't get enough liverwurst. I live in a very German town, so I can get all kinds of high quality liver sausage, among other things. Yummy!

I eat most anything or at least I'll try most anything. Livers, I give the chicken livers to my dogs. At least they appreiciate them.
