Everyone knows the Miracles this stuff can Whip up for your vintage audio gear, and I'm sure everyone has used it in place of shaving cream for years and years, but has anyone ever used it to make egg salad? Or even wackier, tuna salad or potato salad? As ashamed as I am to admit it, I even knew a guy once who slathered it all over slices of bread when he made ham sammitches!
Discuss.
Mmmmmmm...Sammitches..... *drool* ~(_8^(|)

Actually, I prefer isopropyl alcohol and WD-40 for those applications

I prefer Miracle Whips Vinegary goodness to plain old Mayo.
This could be my new Avatar, unless someone swipes it first:
Also available in 5 gallon buckets.

Any food product sold in paint pails can't be good. :nono:

Well, that writes off a whole bunch of restaurant and bakery products then.
You'd prolly be pretty surprised how much stuff does come in theose 5 gallon pails.

Hellman's or Kraft real mayo on ham sandwiches? You betcha. And in egg salad too. Miracle Whip is sweeter than most mayonnaises because if you look at the label, it clearly states it is "salad dressing", not mayo!

Just my attempt at humor, I know a little about the restaurant biz. Still 5 gallons of Miracle Whip? I'll pass thanks.

No problem, but it's just the ticket for those tuna/chicken/ham salad sammiches at the Deli.
Heck, those boys might use a couple on a busy day.
Oh and FWIW, I work for Costco and even I don't buy the gallons of mustard and pickle relish (or mayo); it's just TOO much!!

I find cleaning my gear with mayo gives it a sort of heavy, Frenchy sound, so I prefer using aioli, which gives a more Italian, zesty, presence to the mids. It's particularly effective on cables.
So, the rumors that people eat the stuff are true?? What a way to adulterate the mustard on a fine ham sammitch...

Which should lead us into a debate of the relative merits of various types of mustards.
But that would be a thread hijack of this vitally important topic, so I won't. Being 'toze's thread, I could find myself banned, for my interruption of this erudite discussion.

You'lll have to do better than that. I've been called much worse, most of it true. (Usually that line ends with "...but by a better class of people". In this case, I have to truncate that retort.)

Does "Banned Forever" imply that others who have just been "Banned" have a chance of returning one day? This could be major news...

In most cases, there is that option (See VS). But not in your case.

Simply the best mayo (http://www.dukesmayo.com/) . It's what my mother and grandmother used. One of my favorites is a thick slice of a good ripe beefsteak tomato with pepper and mayo on good ol' white bread. Yummmm :thmbsp:

Dat is goog mayo, and I'm not a regular user of the stuff. Also, I would gladly pass ANY raw tomato that comes my way in yr direction.

Dukes is really good! Also, it's the only major brand that has no sugar added to it, which makes it fractionally healthier than BestFoods/Hellman's. Dunno what else is in it, but I avoid sugars.
You can have my tomatoes too!

"Mayonnaise, as defined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Standard of Identity, must contain at least 65% oil by weight, vinegar, and egg or egg yolks. It may contain spices and natural seasonings except turmeric and saffron, as yellow color might suggest added egg yolk."
I also like a couple of slices of raw, ripe tomatoes with breakfast, lightly salted with fresh ground pepper. Like you, my girlfriend despises them raw. Cooked only! Pass the tomatoes!
I like tomatoes (cooked or otherwise) but they don't like me. Now, where did I put the Tums?
