What is wrong with the "glass"? If it is just scratched, it can be polished. Even very deep scratches can be removed from that type of acrylic. It takes a bit of elbow grease but in most cases it can look new again.

wish it was just "polish-friendly" issues......has a crack about 1 1/4" long in front of signal strength meter....what do ya know about removing corrosive bumps on the aluminum face ??? It must have been exposed to salty moisture or something....they aren't pits, rather raised up little snotty things......I'm NOT AFRAID of elbow grease either......thanks, Z.

Not much you can do with pits in the anodized aluminum. Try some semichrome polish. It will make it look as good as it can but will not fix pits or scratches that go through the anodizing. There is also no good way to repair a crack short of replacement. Face plates come up from time to time on ebay. You can also post a wanted ad in the AK parts swap area.
