I'm looking for an owners manual for a Tascam 122 Cassette deck. Preferably in PDF format.

Any ideas where I can find one?

Thanks

How about right here? (http://www.tascam.com/Products/122mkII/112mkII_122mkIII_manual.pdf)

Tascam lists the manual in pdf format for the MKII model the don't list it for the earlier non-MK model I have.

hi.. slightly off topic but the title is tascam 122 so here goes..

i've read somewhere that the capstan motors on these machines changed, I think, in the MkII models so that the speed control circuitry was actually on / in the motor which makes motor replacement much more expensive than on the MkI models... can anyone confirm this?

there are quite often 122's and 112's on eBay and often have dodgy or broken capstan motors..

thanks

Yes, that's right when 122 MK II were made, capstan-motor comes with control servo board attached.
Also idler-wheels for rewind /fforward break often, but a new kit can be bought from Teac for $ 25.00.

Hi

I seem to have a problem with a motor capstan. Silly deck plays too fast and motor makes decent noise. Checked control belt and it seems firm and OK.
Is it possible to fix transistors on motor board? Would replacement of a big transistor BA6411 be of any help? I can't see any particular sign of damage on the motor winding or little bridges or transistors....
Any experience or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.... and thanks in advance!

You wouldn't believe! I've got a new capstan motor fitted to replace old one (on Tascam122MK2) that was playing in HI-SPEED (problem from before) ...and... and... the problem with speed still exists!!!
Is capstan motor supposed to run immediately when you power up the deck? As soon I turn the POWER on... capstan motor runs as in FastForward (HI-SPEED)... :sigh:
Any help please send private message or leave post here!
Thanks
