"If my package is on one of your trucks and the truck burns to the ground completely destroying everything it was carrying, is it still my fault for not packing my _______ correctly? And will you be denying the claim?"

Well, you didn't use the 9" of Nomex-impregnated fiber overwrap we recommend in the fine print at the bottom of your service agreement, page 74, paragraph 6G, so yes, it IS your fault. Have a nice day.

FedEx denied (at first) a claim, stating that the packing was inadequate, yet no one ever came to the house to see it. However, it had been shipped from the sellers office, a BIG FedEx user - when he hit them they paid. Of three problems I have had with UPS they paid two, the other was denied because I made the repair before anyone could survey the damage, but I was anxious to get the buyer back his unit in good shape.

Hey that's kinda like declaring termite damage to the IRS. Of course they'll say no because it wasn't an act of god or something, but if you shoot a 500 pound termite on july 4th of 2002 you can write that damage off.
the stickler here is, a million of the bastards can eat your house for 2 years and you can't write it off, but if one eats your house and you kill it the same day then your good.
Sorry not shipping related really, but it's relevant to the fine print!
