I currently use an HP Designjet 650C at work and it suits my needs just fine. I'm looking for one for the house. Even something like the Designjet 220 that I used to use would be sufficient. I'm not stuck on HP and I don't HAVE to have color. If you have one sitting around collecting dust, let me know. Thanks.

Have you looked on ebay? The older black & white models are relatively cheap as long as its a local pickup. Parts & repair can be problematic. My 350c has issues and many parts are NLA...

Shoot... we just sold off a working 350C!
The 350C, 650C, & 750C plotters all are getting very hard to find parts for...

I'm watching a 650C right now on eBay - the bidding is at $400. We'll see how that goes. You guys bring up a good point about parts and such. The one at work has a problem in that it doesn't load properly and apparently parts aren't available to fix it (once the paper is loaded, which is a PITA, it works fine though). Maybe I should look into leasing one. Anyone ever done that? - Mark

I use the 755CM and its been a good machine. Id like to get our office to upgrade to a newer model, will see what they say.

I took a quick look on eb-ay and there were at least three auctions in your neck of the woods for various designjets. Somebody in town paid ~$900 for a working 650c from one of those "Sell It Now!" joints that probably have about as much experience with large format printers as my friend's cats do (i.e. none).
For the moment, I've had to settle for a Deskjet 1220c (13x19) and stitching together stuff for large projects. Admittedly it doesn't look anywhere as nice as the big Epsons or Designjets but a life size picture of a comic book character at a kid's b-day party will blow a kid's mind. Scores big points for girlfriends too...

Anybody have a Windows driver for a Houston Instruments LDS4000a scanner? Its a huge sheet type monochrome scanner. I found it cheap (along with a dead Designjet 350c that will hopefully be an organ donor for my ailing unit). I couldn't find anything online except other people with the same model begging for drivers.
