View Full Version : What's your fav cereal?
RussinOhio 02-03-2006, 12:30 PM Honey Nut Cheerios, Cap'n Crunch & Raisin Bran are mine :thmbsp:
Interestingly enough..I don't eat cereal much but when I do its one of the above three. Always taste best when you wake up in the middle of the night with the munchies!
(Hey, that gives me an idea for another thread!)

Cocoa Puffs would be on the list, but the damn things cut the roof of my mouth. :nono:
RANT: they don't sell Wheat Hearts around here anymore!
:tears:
mhardy6647 02-03-2006, 03:30 PM I like LIFE cereal and (don't laugh) Special K with Almonds. Been eating the latter quite a bit lately. I also like(d) a cereal called "C J Post" when we lived in CA, but I don't think the Post folks make it any more.
I also quite like cream o' wheat, and grits, both of which are (I think) technically cereals.
I have been known to munch on the occasional handful of Froot Loops, dry...

Kellogg's Raisin Bran
Wheat Chex
In that order with 1% milk. Lots of 1% milk. And toss on a sliced banana or sliced strawberries, as well. Zero additional sugar.
Didn't even think about hot cereals.
Oatmeal. Prefer the instant packs from Quaker with maple sugar or cinnamon with a pack of the unflavored. Add a bit of butter. Excellent gruel.
Cream-O-Wheat

RussinOhio 02-05-2006, 01:44 PM I wonder if any of you in my age group (I'm 47)...remember which cereal it was in the early 70's that gave you a 45 rpm record on the back of the cereal box. They were "Archies" tunes that you simply cut-out....and put on your record player!
The damn thigs would never play very good either!

Kamakiri 02-22-2006, 07:03 AM Reese's peanut butter cereal is da bomb :thmbsp:
Captain Crunch peanut butter used to be, but it's not the same anymore.....seems too much like Kix, not as heavy. Of course corn chex is always a fave, and Honey Bunches of Oats...mmmmmmm
For some reason I can't stand Honey Nut Cheerios anymore, I think that's the only cereal I was allowed to have as a kid :grumpy:
bgadow 02-22-2006, 01:16 PM I'll kinda switch around. Frosted mini-wheats, raisin bran, sometimes just plain store brand wheat flakes. Pretty dull, huh? Cocoa Pebbles are good though, I just don't let myself go there anymore! too much other junk I eat. Now Kam has me thinking about that peanut butter cereal, darn...
Shredded Wheat. You remember them.
Micropassatman 02-22-2006, 02:56 PM Currently, my faves are Crispix and Honey Bunches of Oats - both with almonds and w/o.
Eric H 02-22-2006, 03:19 PM Plain ole Cheerios with a little Brown Sugar. 2nd place: Raisin Bran.
Cap'n Crunch is good but it shreds the roof of your mouth!
Micropassatman 02-22-2006, 03:27 PM Oh. Forgot my hot cereal. Cream Of Wheat w/ raisins and brown sugar!
pen_man 02-22-2006, 03:32 PM My vavorite has yet to be mentioned--Blueberry Morning.

back in the days when there was always a keg at my house i did a taste test of beer and a different cereal for breakfast each day for a week. :screwy:
i have to say grape-nuts DEFINITELY won hands down.
unfortunately it wasn't with a quality beer like that but now that you've reminded me i might have to try it again now...
jasonmaz 03-08-2006, 10:05 PM I love my Kokocrunch! Try it, it's a delicious cereal. I also tried honey dipped cereal but its too sweet. I can't even taste the milk..
cabinover 03-09-2006, 07:09 AM I'm with Kegger, Franken Berry is the good stuff.
Cheerios
Crunchy Oats and Raisins/almonds
Hot:
Real Oatmeal, not the quick cook kind. Since the HA this is all I'm supposed to eat but with brown sugar it's very good.
Maypo with sugar and milk and a half loaf of toast with butter, great for me I know.
