Is there any info on this receiver that I could get? I can't seem to find much on it. What are your opinions/impressions on it.. What would be a fair price for a used one with remote?

Can only offer you its general place in Sony history and some rough rules of thumb:

1) It's an "audio/video control center" which means it is home theatre-oriented. These would have made extensive use of integrated circuits and handled video signals within the case - two NOT good signs

2) It's not from Sony's vintage period - 1966 to about 1980 when it largely used discrete components and competed against Pioneer, Sansui, etc. ICs are not automatically bad and have their uses (FM demultiplexers, for example) but are generally considered overly compromised for power amp circuits.

3) According to one eBay seller, he can ship it for 14 pounds. Quality in an audio receiver is correlated with mass. The greats (the "monster recievers") weigh 50 to 90 pounds. There are reasons - power supplies and heat sinks. At 14 lb, this unit doesn't contain much of either. A light tuner would weigh 14 lb shipped.

It might sound fine if matched to the right speakers to some peoples' ears but based on the above, few would seek it out for audio applications.

As to market value, on eBay one sold for $66 but three others were no sale at $25 to $50 suggesting that the one sold was a fluke. I'd guess $25 to $50 would be a reasonable range, if I were an appraiser (but I'm not).
