Just a heads up for you music fans. I watched Austin City Limits last night (Friday), but I know many of you get ACL on Saturday or Sunday. Two excellent bands were featured last night - Death Cab For Cutie, and My Morning Jacket.
The good news is the music - very good. The bad news, especially with My Morning Jacket, is that these guys are absolutely boring on stage. Their music is slow much of the time anyway by design. But when you have slow music paired with 4 guys barely moving on stage, it is boring (to me at least). And Jim James and the MMJ boys all look like something from the movie "Hair". It was like watching 4 "Cousin Its" on stage, as their long hair covered their faces for most of the show.
But don't conclude from this that I don't like MMJ, because I do. Their album "It Still Moves" (no relation to my Cousin It comment above) stays in regular rotation at my house.
For those that are interested, set your TIVOs and watch this episode.
