View Full Version : The tender touch of UPS
ozmoid 02-20-2006, 09:58 AM I'm just glad this wasn't audio gear. Or glass. Or anything other than bricks.
This was a small, light package. Using it for a ladder :nono: was pointless, the box is only about 2" thick. :sigh:
decius 02-20-2006, 10:05 AM I myself, hate USP. I order alot of computer hardware from online vendors, and UPS always ruins my things, processors with bent pins, Fragile lights and fans, throw around and cracked. I stick with FedEx, when ordering, and USPS when shipping.
What they don't tear up, they shit on...
Cleve 02-20-2006, 10:28 AM The driver probably didn't use it as a ladder - I'd wager he was trying to reach a package on a shelf, and rather than bend over and MOVE your package, the lazy S.O.B. just figured he'd step on it. You ought to forward that photo to a supervisor at UPS and kindly explain the consequences to UPS had this been a fragile, expensive item.
But I guess it could be worse. Didn't we see one photo here at AK of a UPS package with actual tire tracks on it?

That happened here within the past six months. Local fella sold his '56 gold top Les Paul on E-Bay, had the UPS Store pack, insure and ship it out. It got as far as the back door and was run over by the UPS driver who failed to load it into the truck.
Fisherdude 02-20-2006, 01:40 PM My wife ordered a doll that had china head, arms, and legs. It was extremely well packed, double-boxed, and thoroughly padded. It arrived, via UPS, smashed into pieces with tire tracks on the box.

Let me guess - UPS, after careful review, determined the item was inadequately packaged.
Fisherdude 02-21-2006, 03:17 PM Luckily, the seller replaced it directly with no delays, and they dealt with UPS, so we didn't have to.
The seller said it happens all the time.
devoid 03-11-2006, 08:17 PM UPS needs to get their shit together. A few years ago around here a driver backed the truck over a four year old boys head.
