I hate to part with this bike. Have owned it for about the last 16 years.

The good. Its got 17,000 miles and runs. Looks awesome. Always been garaged every day I have owned it.

The bad. Theres an electrical gremlin that I just never got around to fixing. Had the carbs torn down by a local Suzuki shop about 3 years ago to the tune of 400.00 !

Before me the bike was owned by a Suzuki mechanic who babied it even more then i did. Its really a great bike an deserves to be ridden.

Its tucked away in my garage but i heisted a photo of my exact bike from fleabay. I will be glad to post a pic when the weather is nice enough for me to drag it out. Mine does not have the rear sissy bar but has a rear rack and soft rack bag big enough to hold a helmet. The one pictured is in superb shape. It should be since the auction i took the pic from said it had only 850 original miles. Mine is a real looker but not as nice.

Its tearing my heart out to sell this since I have had a bike in my life one way or another for the last 25 years. With a new project car coming home it has to go.

Price 650.00

Nice bike Grumpy...

You might want to edit your thread title to GS-850L

I had a GS-450L before my Goldwing and it was a really great bike...
At your price, someone is going to get a great ride !!!
Good luck.

That's a great bike, Grumpy!
I've had lots of Suzukis, including a GS-1000 and a GS-1100GKZ dresser. That Suzuki inline four engine is darn near bulletproof, lots of them (1000-1100 versions) have been built up into VERY serious drag bikes.
I'd snag it in a second if I had the room and it wasn't the L version (I like the standard, not cruiser, styles)

Somebody's gonna be grinning ear to ear this summer though!

$5 says the electrical gremlin is a 5 minute fix, connectors under the left side cover from the magneto. It's Suzuki's achilles heel as well as many others. I have a standard 850 and have always had a soft spot for the GS series. The nice thing about the 850 is it doesn't need to crank to have the power, different ground cams let it use the torque rather than 7,000RPM for horsepower.

Dammit I wish you were closer than the north pole.

I've been fighting the urge to buy a bike lately. That one would fit the bill nicely.

Arghh....

Get the kid to ride that sucker to Birmingham so Jdaniel can have a new toy. Jeff's a classy guy and will send him back on a 1st class plane ticket. Trust me on this.

I'm not so sure its a 5 buck part or 10 minute fix. I been fighting plug fouling every since its sat. Compression is good but i still think its faulty ignition.

I had one of these 850L's in two-toned blue. Also had a 650L in maroon. Both one of the sweetest bikes I've ever ridden. And I've had a lot of bikes...

Damn! If I wasn't hauling three sets of speakers back from the fest I'd bring it home. It would be a great commuter bike. I only live 10 mintues from work...drat!~

I guess I could ship this bike if the buyer is willing to pay for it. I been looking and its about 250 to send a reasonable distance.
