I have a Pioneer CT-F1000 Cassette Deck on the way without the wood case. Anyone have any experience with these units?
I'm wondering if I should bother trying to find a wood cabinet (for aesthetic purposes only) and put it on myself or have a tech do it if it is just a big hassle.

as a CT-F1000 owner hutson, you owe yourself this. (http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=53175&highlight=ct-f1000)

Whoa Bolly, sounds like a major restoration project may be in my future. (Guess the would case should be the least of my concerns!)

Great deck I have two. There are quite a few here that have em' or had one.
They usually need belts and attention in the drive section. Just search around here and you can find some great knowledge. Some think the 1000 is nicer than the 1250. I could not decide  so I had to get em' both! :music: Happy motoring!! :thmbsp:

Go to the feedback forum and do a search for "ct-f1250" or "ct-f1000" and you'll get a good idea of who the best on the site are.

I've had the CT-F1000 for about a month now. What a beautiful monster deck! The unit playback sounds warmer than my CD player most of the time. Got lucky with this unit as there is plenty of torque and all meters/lights are working fine. I'm not too concerned about putting a wood case on her anymore. Her face is pretty enough for me...for now.

I have owned mine since it was new and I have never found a deck that I like better. The quality of the recordings possible with this machine is astounding. I have grown used to it so I mostly notice when I listen to tapes made on another unit or when someone borrows one of mine and comments on the quality.
