$119 4-6 ft

We are a group of individuals who are tired of the outrageous mark-up most audio companies put on their products. The current industry leader in this is one we all know and love to hate.
800% to 3000% mark-up is what they average for power cords that are no better than ours and sometimes don't even perform to the same level.

We can go on about companies that charge over $200.00 per foot for there power cords but why bother? There are people out there with money to burn and who don't understand that they are just throwing away their money!

We manufacture power cords and power cords only.....The BLACK MAX line of power cords! We don’t dabble in interconnects, speaker cable etc. We specialize in and focus on power cords.

We pride ourselves on quality of workmanship and giving you a truly reference quality cord, without the outrageous price. Ignore buzz words and crazy marketing claims. Make your purchase based on quality, not the cool factor.

Review system is Arcam Alpha One CDP with Soundstring power cable, Almarro A205 integrated, Almarro M1A speakers, Chord Carnival Silver Plus speaker cables, Chord Silver Siren ICs. Test CDs were Holly Cole Trio – Don’t Smoke In Bed; Johnny Cash – Unchained; Leo Kotke – Peculiaroso; Chuck Brown & Eva Cassidy – The Other Side; Doc Severinsen and His Big Band – Swingin’ The Blues.

First Impressions

The Black Max appears to be a well-built cable, durable woven jacket, hospital-grade connectors, quite flexible, easy to run.

Sonics

The Arcam cdp is the only piece in this system that has an IEC connection, so that is the only place it will be used. The Black Max is running against a recent addition to my system, a Soundstring power cable for digital sources. The initial impressions of the Black Max were that the imaging was weaker, bass output and definition were reduced, overall, my system was less 'musical', almost 2-D, in comparison. I put the Soundstring back in, for about an hour, to verify my first impressions. Sonics came back.

I tried to listen to the Black Max for the next two days, and found myself not wanting to turn on my system, due to the deficiencies in sound reproduction.

I cut short the demo, and shipped the Black Max to Grumpy.

Conclusion

I was surprised that, at 3X the cost of the Soundstring, not only did it not equal the performance of the Soundstring, it actually degraded the performance of my system.

The big lesson for me, from this demo: Find a way to demo a particular cable in YOUR system, BEFORE you buy. I would NOT buy this cable.
