Stupid question, but I honestly don't know the answer...
Can I hook a laserdisc player to my T.V. AND my vintage Sansui amp simultaneously in order to watch laserdisc movies AND / OR play CD's? I do NOT have the Sansui hooked to the T.V. and have no intention of doing that.
Does the laserdisc act as it's own processor, or does in have to be ran through a receiver / amp?
Thanks for the help.

Yes. Yellow composite or S-video from the LD to the TV, and the red/white audio to an aux/tape in on the reciever. Operate it like a CD player with video functionality.

If it has two sets of RCA outs on the back (both mine do) run one set to the TV, and one set to your preamp/receiver.

Only one warning, if you get hum, you will have to un-ground something. And grounds are there for YOUR safety.
But if you get no hum, buzz or noise, you are home free. You can Y adapt your R and L outputs and then run a standard cable to each.

SWEET! Thanks for the info, all of you.
I just don't want to run my TV through my vintage rig... This way I can watch laserdiscs one minute, then switch to CD's the next. Kills two birds with one stone. I would assume I can also play CD-V OR laserdisc (for sound ONLY) through the amp if I choose? I have a couple of concert laserdiscs that I'd like to play through my stereo system.
Theo... As for "processor," I just meant "it's own power unit." I honestly wasn't sure if I had to run the laserdisc through an amp to get sound out of the T.V. I don't need surround, etc., just the ability to watch a laserdisc if I so choose.
Thanks again everyone.
