For those that don't know I picked up one of these:

All I can say is WOW! If you are in need of a universal remote you can't beat one of these for $45 - $50 NIB on ebay. I programmed all 6 of my different remotes functions (TV, DVD, VCR, Cable box, Receiver) into it in a snap. And I was able to only add the buttons I need, example who needs the number pad on their DVD remote??? Not I. And this is all so easily done and the cool PC connection allows you to easily set up activities such as "Watch a DVD" and then you drag and drop the buttons you want on your remote's screen using the program on your PC. Example for "Watch a DVD" I have the power buttons of my DVD, TV, and Receiver, the basic playback buttons of the DVD, the volume controls for the HT receiver and basic surround command buttons and then I have "shortcut" buttons the the advanced menu/buttons of the TV, and DVD player. I have similar setups for "Watch TV" "Listen to Music" "Play XBOX" etc. You can also program Macros, which means you can program it so that if you hit one button it would for example turn on the TV, DVD, and HT receiver, play the DVD movie all in one press! It is so easy to do that even someone with hammerhands like Lefty could do it.
I have only noticed two quirks, the backlight is not as bright as I would like, and I am using the more powerful batteries as suggested in a forum for these remotes. But I am only using two of the more powerful 3.6v AA's and two regular 1.5v AA's so I think if I slap in two more 3.6's I'll be real happy. That said I could easily live with it like it is.
The other quirk is the touchpad responds best to a kind of tap type push, similar to the touchpad on my laptop, and I tend to push too hard with my sausage fingers, but once I grow more used to it I am sure I will have no problems.
Even with those quirks if I had paid full price, $149.95 I still would have felt I got a deal but for $40 to $50 bux on ebay it's an outright steal!!!!!
