Since they haven't made anything new for a while, I started looking stuff up on the WWW.
Found out some stuff I didn't know-Marc Moreland died in '02.
He did some solo stuff that I just got this week, and I'm really liking it.
One is Department of Crooks' album "Plan 9 from Las Vegas."
The other is Marc Moreland's Mess, the album is "Take it to the Spotlight."
I always liked his twangy guitar and (& WOV's) general strangeness.

There's a band name I haven't heard in a while. Yeah, I thought they were a lot of fun.

Never explored WOV much, but I thoroughly enjoy Ridgway's solo stuff.

They had an interesting cover of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" back in the early '80s IIRC, and there was one other song I liked of theirs, but can't remember what it was.

Then again those were wilder days :scratch2:

Call of the West - great album! :thmbsp:

Most played track was Mexican Radio (http://80music.about.com/library/artist/bl_artist033100.htm)...

I loved them back in the day. Got into the Stan Ridgway solo stuff too. Haven't listened to it in a while. If you like that stuff, I'm guessing you would like the Jerry Harrison solo stuff too. I just got "Casual Gods" on vinyl and listened to it for the first time in years. All that stuff was out when I was buying cassettes. Ugh.

Take care,

Ed

I've got several Wall of Voodoo and Stanard Ridgeway albums. Good stuff, which brings back memories of mid-80s college radio -- Foe
