Since we are international, it would be cool if we could share some artists that we may never hear about other wise.
Walt turned me onto an Aussie artist Alex Lloyd that I really liked. I even ordered an import CD today!

Any others?
Chris?

Chris will suggest "Soda Stereo" amongst others - I am sampling some of their stuff now ...

Did you mean that you almost order the Alex Lloyd CD import?

Angela,

You're sending him the stuff I sent you?

Mike,

Aren't some of the names of the Latin American groups/bands slightly amusing!? Soda Stereo, what about Beer Stereo since those two things seem to go hand in hand around here ... heck Chris can probably tell us some more if he could be bothered. :)

Anyway I was dl some Soda Stereo last night so I can see what all the fuss is about (Chris!) ;)

Enjoy

Soda Stereo is like the U2 of latin america. In south america they were the greatest band of the '90s.

I like their last albums: Sueño Stereo and Dynamo, as well as their MTV (un)plugged Confort y Musica para Volar

Their music is a bit like putting the Beatles and the Cure in a blender and turning it on high. Sprinkle in one hell of a guitar player and singer (Gustavo Cerati) and you'lll end up with one hell of a band IMO.

I really like the Gypsy Kings. They are based out of Paris, France http://www.gipsykings.com/

If you like funky 50's kinda stuff the Red Elvises from Siberia http://www.redelvises.com/redelvises/

If you like laid back there is always Joao Gilberto - I believe from Brazil

how about Japanese jazz from Hiroshima http://www.hiroshimamusic.com/

Chris,

You could email them but the whole thing could take quite awhile to send, let alone for someone to download. I have broadband so downloading would be less painless for me.

I would really like to hear that music, so if it's not too much trouble, you could email them to me.

Or, you could burn a copy and mail it to me. I could send you something in return. PM me if you want to trade otherwise here is my email address: freetaco@chartermi.net

Thanks Chris.

Hi Chris and Wards,

Tracks 2,3,4,5, and 6 have alot of drop outs. Not skipping. Acts like it's got bits missing. Used Winamp to playback. I've redownloaded and the same thing happened. I burned them to disc and they played back the same way. Let me know if you guys have the same problem.

This stuff sounds pretty cool.

Thanks again Chris and Wards.

Dry

That's strange... In my PC the MP3's play just fine. I sent them to Wards uncompressed.

I'll try to email you the tracks tonight. I'll see if that fixes your problem.

I'm glad you are enjoying it.

Chris

yea i get the same dropouts. i had not listened to them before uploading. Chris listen to your originals and tell me if they have the glitches. It will determine if it was a conversion problem or a transmit problem. Regardless it kinda cool music. I heard the "sound" before but can't place my finger on who they sound like.

My originals sound fine, I heard them just now, so it could be that something happened to them when I emailed them.
