I know this has been discussed before but I couldn't find the thread. I got lucky and picked up a C 26 for cheap. Cheap because there are several bubbles on the glass. The unit works and sounds great. I have not put test gear on it yet but, I suspect that it will meet or exceed specs. I remember a discussion about repairing bubbles and there were several different suggestions of what to use to repaint the glass. So, my question is... Should I or shouldn't I attempt this and if I do, what should I use? If not, does Mcintosh still sell the C 26 glass? (I have replaced the glass on my MX 113 so I am no longer intimidated by the prospect of such a job.) Should I even bother and just leave well enough alone? All suggestions are welcomed, except giving it to one of you :lmao:

I use an Xacto knife and gloss Rustoleum in a can. Work around the edges until you get the hang of it. It's easy. :D
Terry suggested in a previous thread to drip or drizzle the paint using a screw driver, a popsicle stick or whatever. This didn't make much sense to me but it works mucho better than trying to brush it on.

There is good info in Terry's sticky'd thread and also in this thread (http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=38954&highlight=faceplate+repair).
Good luck with it and tell us how it worked out for you. :)

Yep. That's a good thread for bubble removal.
