I read a review in the latest issue of Stereophile of this group's new eponymously-named CD, and bought a copy. I am stunned by how good the album is: The idea of "old chestnut" operatic arias performed by a rock band sounds incredibly trite, but these folks pull it off amazingly well. Well worth a listen.

East Village as in NYC? Where the Fillmore was?

My sister is quite fond of this group. The music does sound great for the first couple of listens, but I did find it trite after extended listening. Still worth a listen, none-the-less, to see if it suits one's tastes.
