I work in NYC and there is a branch of the NY Public Library close to where I work called the Donnelly Media Center which has 1,000s of CDs and DVDs for loan :)

It's located down the block from CBS where I worked in the 70s in their photography department and where I helped assist in the photographing of many CBS/Epic recording artists.

I digress, any way, they have an awesome collection of blues, rock, classical etc. - whatever genre of music you like they have.

This past weekend I watched the director's cut of Woodstock (much different than the original) and the Last Waltz. The weekend before I saw Ray Charles Live in Buenos Aires, circa 1963, and Muddy Waters Live.

Rightly or wrongly I burnt a CD copy of many wornout albums I own or remixed versions. I have about 24 linear feet of vinyl, as well as 100s of 45s, which I purchased over the years, many years, so I don't feel too bad.

Yeah I do that to, but not resently. At our library you can rent as many as you can carry. Of the hundred or so that I borrowed I found about 10 good ones. My friend also brought me a huge collection from the library.
That is how I discovered Klaus Schultze X album, which I really like. I since bought the remastered version. As well as the austrailian band Outback and Dr. Didg, Alan Parsons, Porcupine Tree and a few others that I normally would not have been exposed to.

If I can't borrow CD's, DVD's, or VHS tapes from my local library, or get to one in a nearby town and use my regional card, Interlibrary Loan is a godsend. Once in a blue moon you'll get a disc that just won't play a track or two due to incredible damage done by a past patron/idiot but that's the price you pay for getting stuff for free.

I have owned a 66 SPL311 a/k/a Datsun 1600 Roadster with lots of mods for 27 years. I guess you could say the SPL311 is the grandaddy of all Jap sports cars as it was the first to be widely accepted and raced in the 60s. Too many cars, not enought time hence I sold a 72 240Z last year which I completely restored.

Currently I'm restoring a 66 MGB but a case of sciatica has almost crippled me so that project is on hold. The upside is that I listen to a lot more music rather than working in the garage.

Very cool Mike!
I used to work at a Jap cars specialty shop back in days when everybody who worked on cars in general would laugh in the owner's faces. Times have changed huh? The largest Datsun dealer in the area would send us all their roadsters too.
The stories of those days that can be told...
Subaru FF1's, Toyota RT's and Mx's, Mazda R100's. :lmao:

Anyway a Mike I used to work with now restores them up north of here in Lake Co. He has website here (http://www.datsunsports.com/index.htm) with some cool pics to look at if you like.
