My Tu-717 is sounding great these days, so I wish I could take care of this one item and declare it Great!

THe AM dial indication is absoultely spot on. The FM is off by a consistent 0.3 anywhere on the dial (dial reads low vs reality)

I the archives I found a post (5/06/04))stating that there was 1 screw that could be turned (physically located on TOP of the tuning gang..furthest screw from the string pulley) That would adjust the freq. to jive with the display, but would not alter ANY other properties of the tuners true"alignment".

Can anybody confirm this?

Thanks....Scott T.

I've done dial calibrations without the use of test equipment as the service manual calls for. I do it by tuning to an FM station on the low end, around 88.5MHz or whatever FM station you have in your area. Adjust L04 until the station indicates the frequency - you have to keep retuning (using the tuning knob) as the freq changes. Then do the same on the high end - like 107.7. Adjust TC04.

After you've done that, go back to the low end and retest. You may have to do that several times but it should calibrate it. Poor pic attached for L04 and TC04 location.

Yes Sir!! That worked Great! Thanks yet again SansuiSamRI!

FYI anybody else thinking about this:
L-04 is a tall adjuster in a thin plastic sleeve.
TC-04 is a stubby little brass screw head in what resembles a vaiable resistor...and it is VERY sensitive to movement...so be prepared...you wont even feel like you've actually moved it.

This site is priceless for guys like me!!
