Goodwill here has been auctioning off every R2R they get lately, but a new employee priced it and put it on the shelf. I just happened to be there before someone else got it. Beautiful wood case in great condition. The unit works, but needs a bit of cleaning inside and out. Can anyone tell me anything about the SD-7000? It has a voltage selector with 6 or 7 different voltages, and multi-pin cables coming out the back and going back into the lower part of the case. I've never seen a setup like that before. 3 motors, really heavy!

hi and hallo;
Wow....the SD-7000 was Sansui's top of the line reel deck....and it was built solid and has great specs...... it has auto reverse, rewind and repeat play, a nifty 20hz tone it can record on tapes for auto reverse,so need need to add sensing foil.. like the Teac 4010/6010/7010 gsls... i recall the specs to be 15-25000 hz at 7 1/2 , flutter and wow .06 at 7 1/2. s/n ratio above 60 db...a well made deck....also the SD-7000 has built in circuits to help prevent broken or stretched tape during fast winding...and accident erasure, its a large machione alright...has impressive illuminated meters too.... made around 1972-75 blooeyz
