Are these any good? $40 OBO. on CL in LA What do you think?

Very good! I have 2 sets. I think $40 is an average price, Check the foam! These are old enough to have foam rot!

I got my set for $40. They are really pretty good sounding speakers. I use them in a second system with big Yamaha separates and I have no complaints.

$ I see 'em go for $20 to $40 often. A very nice small speaker- I'm very glad I own a pair. Got mine for $20, with a bunch of high-end speaker wire, great foam, and a free JVC receiver tossed in. I got a great bargain on 'em, but I would've payed $40 just for the speakers.

Very good. Smooth, and will play fairly loud. The bass doesn't go real low, but it is accurate. Highly recommended.

I''ve a pair, and in my opinion, they are mediocre. Sorry I bought them. At least with my pair, with their great looking foam, I've never heard what my fellow respondants claim to have heard. Maybe it is just me?

I wouldn't use them for ultra-critical listening, but for my living room TV set-up and casual music they do fine. Post some pics or e-mail them to me.... I'd be interested in another set.

If you're looking to buy smallish sized speakers you could do alot better for that price.
