My wife bought a Palm Tungsten TX this weekend. As delivered it would not stream from the web via our wifi network. We downloaded a trial copy of ptunes deluxe and it now streams flawlessly. The built-in web browser (Blazer) is fast and all stations we tried instantly launched the ptunes player.

I was most surprised by the lack of background noise (hiss or clipping at max volume) from the Palm headphone out. Dead quiet at full output, no signal, off the Palm batteries. Also ran it off the Palm charger & did not notice any change in fidelity. The audio stage on the Palm was a real surprise. Sound quality is very good from the Sonic Impact SI-5066 & a/d/s/ L300e's. An IBM laptop 4A 14V supply is used on the T-Amp.

You could get it the combination quite loud. However, it really needs a gain stage in-between the Palm & the T-Amp. I may build a CMOY to provide that as well as a convenient place to plug in headphones. I think this may be the bones of a new bedroom audio system.

I have had it on my Treo 650 Palm smartphone for quite a while. I like the streaming radio stations, but I usually use it for Rhapsody music (which it is compatible) for the times when I do not have my Creative Zen Micro with me. I always have my phone, so it comes in handy.

BTW I also love T-amp!! :thmbsp:

(why was this moved to PC streaming? The post is related to streaming from a Palm, not a PC)
