Hi everyone.
After months of lurking on this forum, I'm happy to report that I just picked up my first peice of McIntosh equipment, the 6900.
I'm dying to get it home to try out tonight (still at work). :pity:
I'll be pairing it with Sonus Faber Domus Grand Pianos. As for sources, I currently have a Marantz CD65SE player (may need to upgrade this at some point). We also ordered a Basis Audio 1400 turntable, which should be here in about a week.
For speaker wires, I initially plan on using some old monster cable that I have lying around, but I'm open to suggestions from others.

Welcome to AK!
Sounds like a nice setup - really nice. Sonus Faber puts out a beautiful product.
Zebra Cables, see link at the bottom of the page, sells some nice but inexpensive speaker cable. I have several paris of their inter connects but no speaker cables yet.
I'm sure others will chime in with suggestions.

That will work fine. Enjoy.

you want the kind that'll reach from the amp to the connectors on the speakers....

My combination is MA6900, Monitor Audio Gold speakers, CEC Direct Drive CD Player, Vloydene Sub, Audioquest CV Battery Pack Cables with MIT3 Interconnect. It works beautiful with my set.

We have our new Thinking Out Loud forum for IC's, wire and tweaks. A little
time spent searching and readings older threads in this forum would pay off as well.
Try posting this over at Audio Asylum or Audiogon forum if you want some real recommendations.
Sorry you feel that way.

I'm very fond of the smooth, clean performance delivered by HCM's AudioQuest cables, which I find to be an incredible bargain. Here's a link to their GBC speaker cable, available at a closeout price:

You can select from numerous termination connectors at no extra charge.
I'm using the recently discontinued but essentially identical GR8 cable in my music room (between a McIntosh MA6500 and original Acoustic Research AR9s). I just ordered GBC cable for my theater room system. The difference between the cables is the gauge (GR8 is 8 gauge; GBC is 12 gauge).
These cables are custom made to your preferred length and are very high quality.
Enjoy your new integrated amp!
