on C-SPAN!!! It was a White House press banquet or some such. He's still got it! President's have all the fun, W got to shake hands with Ray Charles. I want to be president! Ray was just as humble as can be. I hope I can enjoy life as much as Ray Charles if I get to be his age. You could tell, the man was like a kid in a candy store! He was having a time. It really upset me that the crowd as a whole wasn't paying much attention to the performance. Talking, laughing, walking around, just flat out disrespectfull! I would have been glued to the stage.

Tell yur Ma...Tell yur Pa...gonna send you back to Arkansas!!!! Hey, Hey.......:D

Hi Brad,

Glad to hear that you enjoyed Ray Charles last night.
I am only familiar with a litte of Rays work but...it sure is good!
Ray is on my must buy list for CD's. I am sure there must be a GREATEST hits album. Do you remember Ray singing AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL? Was that at the Superbowl? Fantastic version!

My Daddy's side is from south Ga., about 30 miles north of the Fla. line. I was raised on this sort of thing. I've been listening to Ray Charles my whole life. Mom's side comes from the West Va. coal mines. Fiddles and juke joints! What a combination! I do remember him doing America the Beautiful, but not the one you mentioned. I don't think I've ever heard a Ray Charles song I didn't like. He can make you cry, make you happy, or make you jump up and hollar! He's for real. He hasn't forgotten where he came from. You can't say that about a lot folks that have made it big. :( Watch your listings, they will probably show it again.

Never Say Naw

If you like the old tune "Baby Its Cold Outside" Ray and Betty Carter did the hands down best version I have ever heard.
