My elderly aunt has decided to stop driving. She has a 1998 SHO with 45K miles that was truly driven by a little old lady (she is 86). He Parkinson's is getting so bad that she has decided to join my mother in the non-driving column. This is a never wrecked, ultra-clean SHO with leather, sunroof, CD player, etc. Whatever was available in '98. And she tells me it has never needed anything but the routine maintenance. She is asking $9,000 for it and is located in Tulsa, OK. Let me know if you are interested and I'll put you two together, at least via e-mail or the phone. I'll see if she has a pic or two I can post.

Those are sweet cars, but, whoever buys it should have the camshaft sprockets welded as they're known to cause catastrophic failures, Dave. :nono:

I have a friend on a Taurus forum who can probably find someone interested. Mind if I send him your post?

V8 SHO Issues
V8? I thought it was a Yamaha V6 in there. The only issue with the SHO's I've ever heard about was the tranny when you have the auto. Glenn, I'd be interested, but I just bought a new car. Those SHO's really are sweet sleepers.

later ones had a v-8 earlier ones had the "YAMAHAMMER" V-6 what a ride winds to 8 grand in a heart beat 0-60 in a taurus in less than 6 second love it the real reason for my name

Pretty sure any SHO after '96 had a V8.

3.4L V-8. Don't recall the hp/torque, but my '90 SHO V-6 was 220hp, IIRC.
