$200 and my Sony PS-X600 was completely dissambled and repaired. Now I have six turntables and have no idea where to use it. Probably go with the vintage system NR-1015 Nikko.
Or I may just try to sell it. Never get near what I've got into it now.
I may go ahead and put it in the Soundcraftsmen/Luxman system, but I'll have to move the very heavy Technics SL-1400Mk2.
For its compact size, the PS-X600 is quite heavy. I'm anxious to hear it, it has Sony's legendary Biotracer tonearm and an Ortofon cartridge.

Hi Pete
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. These things have always intrigued me. Supposed to be a very nice sounding table.
And if you decide you don't wanna keep it, let me know! :)

Own two. Used as my main turntable until recently (replaced by a mint PS-X75, it's older, bigger brother). With a good cartridge and if its electronic innards are still good, it's a great turntable. Axel's TheVintageKnob has a page on it, and a link to the Brit audio mag HiFi who review it very favorably (say its comparable to a Rega 3). Sony Biotracers still don't get much respect, so imagine you'd lose money on it if you auctioned it now. I picked up my mint PS-X75 for about $130 w/shipping, and a PS-X600 with a starting price of $170 just got zero bids (though it had a few problems), although about a month or so ago a minter (looked like it had never been out of its original box) went for around $300. Comparable Denon's (the ones with their version of the Biotracer arm) rarely go for less than $250 (or $500-600 for the higher end ones). Funny the similar Denon's go for so much more. All I know is that the build quality of both the X600 and X75 is as good as I've ever seen on a turntable. Maybe their time will come.

bully - good for you. What's up with the repairs? Did the tech give you a run-down on the issues involved in getting it going again. Would be interesting to know what they did for yours.

It was in sorry ass shape when I got it--and it was well packed, I must say.
It did power on. That was all the description said, so you get what you get.
So I need to hook it up and see if the cartridge has a useable stylus.
