View Full Version : Showed off the HT last night
Had a bunch of folks over partying last night so we all jammed into the living room and I played the "Lobby Scene" from "The Matrix"
Jaws dropped and people were flat out amazed. It was good vindication since many of these same folks thought my whole obsession in aquiring and setting everything up was a bit insane. Afterwards they understood the madness ;)
Being a little tipsy I got a little heavy on the volume knob and hence we watched the scene at the loudest volume I have ever had going for a movie and when the helicopter crashes into a building and explodes I was like  scared shitless I thought for sure sumthin' was gonna break! But everything held together ;)

Good Work I bet all your buds want H\T now too
Thor,
Yeah, the lobby scene and the helicopter into the building are two great scenes with fantastic sound. I own that DVD, a must have in the library IMO. They've come out with a sequel I hear. "Matrix revisited" or something. Is this a new movie or just a reworking of the original footage into a new DVD that will make more sales?

Another good one is "The Replacement Killers" with Chow Jung Phat. The opening club scene is wicked and the bass when he jacks the lowered Duallie is way cool.

Thor,
You have to play The Haunting dts version. The sound on this movie will blow you away. The scene were she gets pulled off her bed will surely test your system. This is real scary BASS.

One of the first movies I played on DVD - HT, was Jurrasic Park (second one I think), a couple of years ago. It's very good on DVD.
Anyway, my brother was over, and he hadn't heard a good HT set up at that point, so had the volume up alittle, and the sub cranked, ....
needless to say the floors shook !! :D
My kid says "Dad's showing off" ;) :)
It was fun!! :p: :)
In planning everything I was originally thinking of getting a couple bass shakers to either stick under the sofa or under the floor. I am glad I didn't waste the money, cuz the two 15" floor loaded woofers in the CV's bottoms each with it's own 300watt amp shakes everything more than enough! I actually have to turn the LFE channel down -6db's on the AVR cuz running full steam they overpowered everything and I was really afraid something was gonna break ;)
